Masterpieces II by Chihuly
In a celebration of craftsmanship, renowned studio glass artist Dale Chihuly has collaborated with The Rug Company on a second collection entitled Masterpieces II. Inspired by Chihuly’s glass oeuvre, these four rugs challenge the notion of textile craft by capturing the fluidity, energy and translucency of glasswork through wool and silk.
Inspired by Chihuly’s artwork, River presents a focal circular motif, evocative of the whirling motion of water. Hand-knotted in a blend of Tibetan wool and silk, this design translates Chihuly’s repetitive rings of molten glass in deep petrol blues and cool grays to create a sense of depth and transparency.
