Masterpieces II by Chihuly
In a celebration of craftsmanship, renowned studio glass artist Dale Chihuly has collaborated with The Rug Company on a second collection entitled Masterpieces II. Inspired by Chihuly’s glass oeuvre, these four rugs challenge the notion of textile craft by capturing the fluidity, energy and translucency of glasswork through wool and silk.
Scallop is inspired by Chihuly’s Macchia series, which explores unexpected color combinations with brightly colored spots. Reminiscent of the movement of water, Scallop presents a monochrome motif with blue accents. Hand-knotted in a blend of Tibetan wool and silk, Scallop features 12 gentle hues to recreate the delicate transparency of glass.
